Babies and Toddlers (6 weeks through 2 years)
We provide a happy, safe environment for our tiny friends. Babies 6 weeks old through 17 months are cared for, loved, and prayed over by our nurturing volunteers. Your babies will be cuddled, rocked, and told simple truths about Jesus! Your active toddler will have a blast as they are introduced to the love of their heavenly Father! Toddlers enjoy a simple interactive Bible story, fun singing and dancing, crafts, snack time, and lots of playing! Your child will receive the best care and attention to help them learn and grow with Jesus!
Preschool (3 years through Pre-k)
In our preschool class it is our goal to help children discover God. This area uses interactive storytelling, song singing, and activities for active child that allows them to find out who God is and begin a relationship with Him. Each week we provide play time, interactive song singing, a fun Bible story, craft time, and a small snack for your child! Your child will have a small group leader who will begin to build a relationship with you and your child and help them discover Jesus!
Elementary (kindergarten through 5th grade)
The elementary class is designed to equip children to move forward in their relationship with God. Your child will go into their particular large group for some opening activities (divided by age-group). From there they will get to experience high-energy worship, and a lively bible lesson. Your kids will finish the time in their small group for discussion and awesome activities. It is our goal that these children will learn to apply Biblical truths to their young lives, becoming life-long followers of Christ. Your kids will love the energy and excitement they receive from our high-impact volunteers and leaders!
Our priority at New Direction is to help kids follow Jesus. We realize that this can only be done in a safe and fun environment. That is why security is important to us. On your first visit you'll be asked to stop at our Kids Check-In table to sign in your kids. We will ask you a few questions that lets us know about you and your child(ren). You can also let us know of any special concerns or allergies that would be helpful for us as we partner with you. You'll also be given a security tag. The number on the tag must match the number on your child's tag after the service. Once you are checked-in, you and your child will be directed to their group area for the day. Then, once the service is over, you simply bring your tag back to your child's group area to pick up your child. In the event that we need to contact you during the service, you will receive a text message. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and report to the New Direction Kids building. All of our New Direction Kids volunteers have background checks and are passionate about teaching your child how to follow Jesus.
It's our goal for New Direction Children's ministry to come along side of YOU, the parent to help you lead your children to Christ! Proverbs 22:6 saids, "Train a child which way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
We know at New Direction your kids will only get a couple of hours with us each year, but will receive hundreds to thousands of hours from you at home! Parents, you are your child's greatest spiritual influence, and we desire to help you along the way! FirstLook, and 252 Basics Groups curriculum wouldn't be complete without parent pieces to synchronize the home with what's going on at church. We call the Parent CUES because they're designed to "cue" parents to leverage everyday moments with their child to Connect to God's story, to Uncover something about life, and to Experience something together.
Parent CUE: Notes to parents that help them know what you talked about with their child this week, and to CUE them to continue the conversation at home.
GodTime Card: Kids' notes to help children establish a consistent devotional experience.
Each week you and your child will receive a Parent Cue and a GodTime Card to continue conversations at home about Jesus! Be sure to check our more tips and info here:
